Ecclesiastes 4:12 …A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
A rope is much stronger when it is made of three cords that are wound tightly together rather than only one cord by itself. When a rope’s strands are separated, the rope is severely weakened.
God our Heavenly Father; God the Son Jesus Christ, our precious Savior; and God the Holy Spirit — these three are always intertwined and are always one in strength and purpose.
Likewise, our nation can be strong if we are one in purpose and unity as we were when we overcame the evil regime of Adolph Hitler in WWII. Unfortunately, what we see happening in our nation today, at an alarming rate, is the dividing of our nation over, race, religion, and politics.
Marriages are strong when there is unity and togetherness between husband and wife as designed by God in Creation, but our marriages have been weakened by adultery and divorce at an increasing rate.
God also desires unity and togetherness in His church. The Apostle Paul said in Romans 15:6 “that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God.” The Christian Church in our nation, founded on the principles of the Bible and faith in Jesus Christ has been weakened by liberalism, worldliness, and has become lukewarm to the principles of the Bible.
Finally, Christian individuals, created in God’s image with a body, a soul, and a spirit are strong when their lives are interlaced with the Spirit of God. The Apostle Paul said in I Corinthians 6:20, “for you are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” The Lord expects our total being to be in unity with Him. Unfortunately, many Christians today are dominated or controlled by their flesh or their emotions.
What is the antidote for this weakening of our nation, the weakening of our marriages, the weakening of the Christian Church, and the weakening of our own personal lives as a Christians? Simply put, it is the complete surrender to the Sovereignty of Jesus Christ, our King and our God and a renewed commitment to the principles of the Word of God. If we reject this antidote, freely offered by God, the people of this nation, their children and their grandchildren will suffer greatly as they reap the results of neglecting God’s free offer.
